Find anything around planet Earth with Google Objects

by Pstonie (14 November 2005)

A recent upsurge in Google's indexed information has caused some to feel uneasy. Dr. M. Dimplebang of the Hungarian University for Tweed Overcoats had this to say about last week's Google DNA: "This is insanity! How could anyone with an internet connection be allowed to search through anyone else's DNA sequences? This is supposed to be private information."

Things are expected to heat up this week when Google Objects comes out of beta. Previously codenamed Carkeys, Objects is a combination of advanced object identification algorithms and Google's X-Ray satellite imagery. The new service is aimed at helping people find objects around the house. Any house.
